Join us for a fall backpacking adventure through golden larch forests, with fishing, camping, and a little route-finding along the way. We’d been eyeing this particular lake for years, but every route we’d considered involved a long, rough bushwhack. With peak larch season approaching, we gave the map another look and wondered, “What if we just went up and over?”
We had our minds set to hike a mountain that was on our list for several years. As we were ascending unstable rock forced us to abandon our mountain quest, but the trip still delivered a ridge-top dinner and a few unexpected finds along the way.
