Trail Description

NOTE: The park is free for day use to Montana residents, but it does cost $6 for out of state visitors.

Lost Creek State Park is a great out and back trail that is perfect for trail running or an easy getaway into nature. The main trail is 8 miles in length (one way) which follows a creek up the canyon at a pretty easy incline. It doesn’t necessarily take you to a summit or view, so you can go as far as you’d like and then just turn around. There’s also a very short trail that leads you to a waterfall. It is very close to the parking lot so, you can plan to visit the falls at the beginning or end of your trip. You will see some old miner cabins and old carriage remains while passing through the varying forests.
