Trail Description

Bear Creek Overlook located in the Bitterroot Mountains is a very easy trail with an amazing view. The trail goes through an open forest with low bushes. Not many views are offered on the way to the overlook, but it is a nice walk in the woods. Lots of switchbacks and you can see the old trail going straight up, but those are to be avoided. When you finally get to the viewpoint, there is a convenient bench to take in the scenery. Amazing views of Bear Creek and surrounding mountains. The summit is fairly open and leaves room for quite a few viewers, as it seems like a popular hike. One of the most bang for your buck hikes view wise! Also when we went mid-August, we realized a lot of the bushes were huckleberries – score!
